Good news for The Newsreader

Screen Australia today announced that it will fund The Newsreader, a six-part drama for the ABC which follows the unlikely bond between a young TV reporter and a ‘difficult’ female newsreader. The series is created by Michael Lucas (Five Bedrooms) and Emma Freeman (Stateless) is set to direct. It is produced by Lucas and Joanna Werner (Riot), and executive produced by Werner and Stuart Menzies (The Cry). This project is financed with support from Film Victoria and the ABC.
